My yarn basket — burnt orange and white

For this hat I used cotton yarn — burnt orange 150 grams for main hat, white 30 grams for mushroom appliqués. I use a 4.5mm hook so hat is firm but not stiff — about 22" around crown — fits 21-23" head — crown about 6" tall — brim 2.5" wide flared — sturdy for festivals and beach. I also had stitch markers — just like in your photo with orange hat, white mushrooms, groovy yellow swirls and smiley daisies.

How this mushroom bucket hat is made — crown + sides + brim + mushrooms

This hat is three parts — flat crown circle about 7" wide (72 sts, 7"×3.14=22" around), straight sides about 4" tall (sc 72 ×12 rounds), and flared brim about 2.5" wide (72→90 sts) — total hat height about 5" from top center to bottom of sides plus brim 2.5" flared outward — 22" around — plus 12 little mushroom appliqués about 1.2" wide ×1" tall sewn around hat — 4 on crown top, 4 on sides middle, 4 on brim — like in your photo with orange hat covered in white mushrooms all around.

Crown — flat circle — 6" wide

Crown is flat circle magic ring 6→72 — 12 rounds — about 7" wide flat — 72 sts at widest — about 7" diameter — circumference about 22" (7"×3.14=22") — 72 sts at about 3.3 sts per inch relaxed — crown top of hat — like top of hat in your photo with orange flat circle and white mushrooms on top — verified against finished photo: 7" flat circle gives 22" around which matches sides.
