My yarn basket — black, orange, yellow, white with candy corn

For this bandana I used worsted weight yarn — soft black 120 grams for the main triangle, little bits of pumpkin orange 15 grams, sunny yellow 15 grams, and warm white 15 grams for the candy corn tip. I use a 5.0mm hook so it's soft and drapes nicely around your neck or head — not stiff. I also had real candy corn candies on my table while I crocheted — orange, yellow, white — just like in your photo with autumn leaves and little eucalyptus sprigs.

I use soft black — not harsh jet black — it feels cozy and shows the orange yellow white tip nicely — just like in your photo with candy corn candies around.

How this bandana is made — black triangle with candy corn tip

This bandana is a simple triangle that starts at the bottom point and gets wider each row until the top edge is about 22" wide flat — about 23" slightly stretched when you tie it — same bandana two ways — flat vs tied stretch. The main part is all black, and at the very bottom tip — the last few rows — you add orange, yellow, and white stripes so it looks like a candy corn candy. The candy corn tip is about 3" tall — orange at top of tip, yellow middle, white at very bottom point — like a real candy corn turned upside down.

It's about 14" long from top center to bottom tip — perfect for tying behind your head or around your neck — with 10" ties on each side.

Each row you add 2 double crochets — one at beginning, one at end — so triangle widens slowly. At row 26 you have 54 double crochets across top — about 22" wide flat on table, 23" wide when you gently stretch with ties — that extra inch is just stretch from tying. From top center down to bottom tip about 14" long.

For the candy corn tip I start with white at the very bottom point — 4→8 dc — white point about 1" tall — then yellow 10→14 dc — yellow middle about 1" tall — then orange 16→20 dc — orange top of candy corn about 1" tall — then black from row 10 onward 22→54 dc — whole candy corn tip about 3" tall at bottom of black triangle — white at very tip, yellow middle, orange above — just like a real candy corn candy turned upside down — like in your photo where orange, yellow, white stripes are at bottom tip of black bandana.

If color changes feel tricky, you can make whole triangle black 54 dc then embroider orange yellow white stripes at tip with tapestry needle — 2 rows white, 2 rows yellow, 2 rows orange at very bottom point — same look — easier for absolute beginners.

Ties and finishing

TIES — BLACK — TWO TIES — 10 INCH EACH

Ties — black, 5.0mm hook — make 2:
Ch 40, sl st in 2nd chain and each chain — 39 sl st — tie about 10" long — make 2 — sew one at each top corner of triangle — left and right top corners — for tying behind head or neck
Weave all tails — black inside black, orange inside orange, etc — 3 stitches forward 3 back — cut close

Ties are simple chains with slip stitches back — 40 chains become about 10" long tie — two ties — one on each top corner — you tie them behind head for headband or under chin for neck bandana.
